My Role
I joined the labsmart in January 2021, I was first tasked with building components then transited into working on dashboards and micro-interactions for the dashboard design.
My work was centered around making the user experience of the dashboard interactive and easy to use. To achieve this, I focused on hierarchy by highlighting the more important information so they can draw the user's attention and the less important data get less hierarchy and so forth.
Overview
Managing people can be extremely daunting, especially in healthcare. Labsmart is a B2B SAAS software that helps Labs and healthcare centres manage patients, and processes in the organisation.
This includes sending patients Lab test results, payments from patients, and referrals from other doctors all in one place.
Labsmart provides a reliable, efficient and secure solution, which enables laboratory owners to run their business with peace of mind while delivering quality healthcare.
The website
Structure, whitespace, Images, Illustrations and well-organized copy were our main focus for the website. we wanted users to come to the website and see exactly what they need and get access to it, no need for complex animations and too much visuals.
This clearly reflected in the conversion rate of about 4-5% accumulating 1000+ health centers and managing 60000+ patients and counting within and outside India.
Based on research, above 70% of the time, people use their mobile devices to get access to the internet, so we made the website and web app responsive so, laboratory owners can actually perform their tasks from their desktop, tabllet and mobile devices.
Copy writing was very important for us as this was a really niché product. Our target was mainly healthcare centers hence the need to use copy and wordings that aligns with their vocabulary.
The Web-based App
The web app is the bread and butter of the platform, so we meticulously made the experience very good by paying attention to structure, hierarchy and data presentation
We kept in mind the needs of users and what we wanted them to interact with the most and nudged them towards using them which not only helped users perform task faster but also made them more efficient
The laboratories are able to track their daily business activities and get insights on days where they make more profit, exhaust inventory so they can prepare for subsequent times ahead.
An important feature is the ability to generate letterhead test results with payment receipts and send them to patients via mediums like e-mail, whatsapp or even text message.
We integrated a survey section in the dashboard to enable labs send reports that will enable make improvements over time. This is especially important as when we combine this with analytics from their usage, we can make informed decisions on what feature to improve or add in future iterations.
One of the core features was to enable labs add patient cases which is used to store patient data and generate and send their test results to them. The cases are like the tests that needs to be done, so when inputing patient data, we attach them to the case associated with them.
Outcomes & takeaways
Labsmart was a resounding success, since 2020 to this point, we have successfully onboarded over 1000 laboratory centers and have processed over 600,000 laboratory results and generation an ARR of ~$800,000 each year.
In addition to this, a media outlet, Silicon India Startup City ranked Labsmart among the top 10 best rising startups in India 3 years in a row.
